Hastelloy B alloy has the following features:
1. Control of iron and chromium in the lowest content, preventing the formation of β-phase Ni4Mo.
2. Excellent corrosion resistance to reducing environment.
3. Excellent resistance to medium concentrations of sulfuric acid and many non-oxidizing acid corrosion.
4. Good resistance to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking (SCC).
Excellent resistance to all kinds of organic acid corrosion. Hastelloy B's metallographic structure:
Hastelloy B is a face-centered cubic lattice structure. By controlling the iron and chromium content to a minimum, process
brittleness is reduced, preventing precipitation of the Ni4Mo phase at
700-870 ° C.
Hastelloy B corrosion resistance:
Nickel-molybdenum
alloy Hastelloy B has a very low carbon content and lowers the
precipitation of carbon and other impurity phases in the weld
heat-affected zone. Therefore, the weld is also sufficiently
corrosion-resistant. Alloy
Hastelloy B-2 has good corrosion resistance in reducing media, such as
hydrochloric acid solutions of various temperatures and concentrations. In
the medium concentration of sulfuric acid solution (or contain a
certain amount of chloride ion) also has good corrosion resistance. At the same time can also be used for acetic acid and phosphate environment. Alloy materials have the best corrosion resistance only in the proper metallurgical state and pure crystalline structure.
