Hastelloy C-4 (UNS NO6455)
Hastelloy C-4 Features and Applications Overview:
The alloy is an austenitic low-carbon nickel-molybdenum-chromium alloy. The main difference between Nicrofer 6616 hMo and other alloys of similar chemical composition developed earlier is low carbon, silicon, iron and tungsten. This chemical composition provides excellent stability at 650-1040 ° C and improved resistance to intergranular corrosion, avoiding edge line corrosion susceptibility and weld HAZ corrosion under appropriate manufacturing conditions. Alloy used in flue gas desulfurization systems, pickling and acid regeneration plant, acetic acid and agricultural chemicals production, titanium dioxide production (chloride method), electrolytic plating.

Hastelloy C-4 microstructure:
The
alloy is face-centered cubic lattice structure, its chemical
composition to ensure the stability of the metallographic and
anti-sensitization.
Hastelloy C-4 process performance and requirements:
1,
In the heat treatment process can not contact with sulfur, phosphorus,
lead and other low melting point metal, or the alloy will become
brittle, should pay attention to remove such as marking paint,
temperature indicator paint, colored crayons, lubricants, fuel and other
dirt. The lower the sulfur content of the fuel the better,
the sulfur content of natural gas should be less than 0.1%, the sulfur
content of heavy oil should be less than 0.5%. Electric
furnace heating is a better choice, because the electric furnace can
accurately control the temperature and the furnace gas is clean. If the gas stove gas pure enough, you can choose.
2, alloy thermal processing temperature range of 1080 ℃ ~ 900 ℃, cooling method for water cooling or other rapid cooling. To ensure the best corrosion resistance, heat treatment should be carried out after solution heat treatment.
